From December 9 to 14, 2024, our students (Senior High – 12 Grade) embarked on an enriching study tour in Chongqing City, specifically in the Yongchuan District. The itinerary was thoughtfully designed to provide a wide array of engaging activities that combined education and cultural immersion.
Throughout the tour, students had the opportunity to explore various state-of-the-art facilities on campus, including modern classrooms, laboratories, and recreational areas. They participated in workshops where they learned digital drawing techniques, allowing them to express their creativity using the latest software. Students also experienced the diverse offerings of the campus canteen, honing their culinary skills by trying local dishes.
Shopping at the campus minimarket allowed students to familiarize themselves with everyday life in Yongchuan, as they browsed aisles filled with local snacks and products. They also practiced their communication skills by interacting with local students, fostering cross-cultural friendships, and enhancing their language abilities. https://youtu.be/bv7O3ZsV8mc
In addition to campus activities, we ventured into the picturesque mountains surrounding the city, where we immersed ourselves in the simplicity of village life. This included hands-on experiences such as creating aromatic oils during aromatherapy sessions, picking fresh oranges from orchards, and making homemade orange jam. Students also engaged in traditional activities like crafting mooncakes, a popular treat during local festivals.
Culminating our culinary journey, we celebrated our experiences by indulging in Chongqing’s renowned hot pot—a flavorful and spicy dish that showcases the region’s culinary heritage. Overall, this study tour not only enriched our students academically but also provided them with invaluable cultural insights and unforgettable memories. https://youtu.be/4WpnYbyfrEM
